Paul Robinson

Paul Robinson is the non solicitor member of the Private Client Department and specialises in Court of Protection matters and related probate work.

Prior to joining FMW Law, Paul had a long career in banking. Paul also ran his own legal services for a number of years and started working for FMW Law in 2002 before joining the Private Client Department on a full time basis in 2008.

Paul works alongside Iain Weir, a long standing Receiver and (post MCA) Deputy and member of the new OPG Deputy Panel.

Embonpoint and approachable Paul is the caseworker for in excess of twenty Deputyship Clients. He manages all aspects of his mostly elderly Clients’ property and affairs and has an excellent track record in the recovery of income and assets of Clients’ whose property and affairs are often in disarray at the time of the appointment of the Deputy.

Paul has a particular expertise in investigating and reporting to the Court of Protection in cases of financial abuse and is a tenacious pursuer of asset recovery through proceedings in the High Court Chancery Division. Paul is also Advanced CRB checked.

Paul is proficient in the preparation of a wide variety of applications to the Court of Protection and regularly attends hearings in the Court including those in respect of Statutory Will applications. Notably Paul was the caseworker, prepared the application and gathered the evidence in support of the application in the reported case of Re M, ITW v Z [2009] EWHC 2525.

Paul is an alumni and Associate of the Institute of Financial Studies and in his spare time enjoys a wide variety of leisure pursuits and interests encompassing the arts, poetry, scripophily, industrial history, reading and gardening as well as working as a volunteer for his beloved Hampton & Richmond Borough Football Club.
